London calling

"When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford."
                                                                                                    -Samuel Johnson 1777

Not everything has changed over the centuries! Therefor, this weekend it's my third trip to London, and it's going to be full of entertainment: there will be two NKOTBSB-concerts and Mamma Mia -musical, and I am quite excited of them all!

Rest of the time we'll spend shopping and sightseeing. This is a ladies'  long weekend there, and I have dreamt of a high heeled pair of Kurt Geiger's since my last trip there...

Here's a selection of pictures of my last trip. I did't plan to go there, but since my co-workers wanted to go there and see some soccer, I went along; just went to see the musical Dirty Dancing instead.
A Mini! And I love this house, too!

There's always something blooming... Lots of small gardens.
What a house! You can find modern and ugly buildings as well, but you can find amazing things if you look up...

British Museum is excellent. There's so much to see and it's for free!
I always want to see these kitty mummies.
Angry birds wishing for some wine?
A travelers snack, yummy it was.
Trafalgar square, such a lively place, and great museums.
 This clock doesn't need introductions...
I got this photo taken in a sightseeing bus, so I suppose it was worth it, although it was chilly sitting there.
 Tower bridge...

And the Tower, too.

On a short trip you only get to see a little bit of London, so why not concentrate on these pretty essentials? For me, Covent Garden is worth visiting every time, and this trip I plan to go and see Camden as well. It might become another "must-see-every-time"...

Here's some music-videos with London, not just the tourists' version of it.

Blue: I can

Pet Shop Boys: London

                                                                 Lily Allen: LDN

And about my upcoming entertainment:
So the hugest boy bands from 1990's are all grown up now and working together. I was a huge fan of New Kids on the Block then, and I am now very excited to see them with Backstreet Boys. One more night to wait!

A little bit more to wait until this one, but surely worth it!

Somekind of warmth...

Weather has been getting warmer, too, but I'm experiencing a real heath wave in a form of a flu and high temperature. To make the most of that warmth I'm wearing my light summer dresses and eating only ice cream...

Here's a song to match:

Recycling

There's no time like present what comes to doing some spring clean up in one's closet.... In my case it takes several days (my actual work disturbing me once in a while), putting aside my warmest cardigans and making space for the lighter clothes. The pieces I don't use anymore go to recycling, either I sell them at flea market or take them to charity - even though my cat seems to object that:

I've done the same kind of harvesting in my bookshelf, and it feels great to finally have some room for new books! :)

Flowery delights

Of course it was raining cats and dogs all weekend, so I avoided gardening and outdoors in general. Luckily I had hot yoga and sauna to keep me warm!

Since today is Monday and just another work-filled day, it is of course nice and sunny. I had time to walk through my garden and admire whatever there looks nice already, crocuses in three colors and snow drops;

The dog instead tried to make the most of whatever snow was left there.

It's spring!

Not all snow has melted away, but the most impatient ones are already riding their motorcycles... And I can't wait to do some gardening, I'll probably start trimming some bushes and apple trees this weekend. Crocuses and snowdrops are already blooming, but there isn't much green yet.

This song fits my springly mood perfectly; it's Drive by by Train.

Sun is still shining!

I have been expecting more snow and sleet - spring and sun feels somehow too good to be true. I have my last Spanish lesson of this spring today, so I suppose that winter really is over!

Today I was back at work after four-day Easter break, just started counting the days 'til summer break (too many to mention yet), lazy me!

Looks like my cat shares the feeling, though:

Easter bunny paid us a visit

For as long as it is still possible to ski outdoors, people really shouldn't do jogging in just shorts and t-shirts. I have slight concerns of the mental health of other residents of this town, but never mind...

This Easter I started believing in Easter bunny - how could I not? There was one hiding behind my rose. Of course I am not entirely happy about it, as I have to worry for my tulips and plum trees, but maybe there was enough snow to protect at least the flowers.

Stupid looking Easter decorations

What a sunny Easter this has been! My smile is certainly getting wider with every new sign of spring! I have been enjoying the yellow and green Easter decorations, but the piece I crocheted myself  looks just funny:

You can make one, too. Here they explain, how.
I'll go out and enjoy sunshine while it lasts...

Getting started!

Welcome to my new blog! This blog is dedicated to all those little things in life that give joy; cherishing all those things that make me smile. They might be little or small, usual or unusual... My interests vary, but I assume that some of my topics are traveling, pets, garden, crafts, movies, music, relationships and nature. Surely I have enough reasons to moarn, too, just like anybody else, but this blog isn't about that. I consider finding laughing matters my true talent, that´s something, isn´t it, so hopefully I can make us all look life in a little bit more cheerful manner - and remind us to cherish all those things that are good and fun!
