Sugary Jordan Knight

What a glorious day this is! Not only was there that splendid piece of news of Magic Mike, but  there's also this and that going on with my favorite celebrities. My very fave New Kid Jordan Knight tweeted his appearance on a Canadian tv-show SugarStars - such an adorable show! Yep, I think I would faint if I ever found myself in a situation like that, but these bakers manage just fine.
Now I got hungry, perhaps I'll go and bake an apple pie...

Magic Mike, finally!

Holidays are over and  I'm busy with work and gardening, but luckily this fall seems to offer me some hours of relaxation as well. It seems like there will be plenty of movies for me to see, even FINALLY this Magic Mike I've been looking forward to since I first heard about it in June. It will be shown here in September - what better way to stay warm in those chilly, rainy days?

So, some girls' movie nights to look forward to!
In the meanwhile I have some apples to make jam of etc. I'm late with my holiday pictures, but I'll post something summerly shortly...

Baby sitting

I've been busy enjoying my holidays, too busy to sit down and blog... It has been wonderful with a little bit of traveling and plenty of sun and shoe shopping! I've even managed to do some house decorating and gardening; both can be awfully relaxing when you are in no hurry to do them.

This week I'm facing another challenge: babysitting my niece (8) and nephew (5)! With the help of Wii and my 14-year-old dog it's going smoothly- at least so far... The most challenging thing has been having that dog not to pee or poop on their carpets... But the sun is coming out and I'm even enjoying this; let's see if I'll feel the same in three days!

Crete!

I'm far too busy to blog or anything right before summer vacation, but now that I've had my last day at work I just want to let you know, that holiday really brings a smile on my face!

The first week of it I'm spending at Greek island of Crete, no doubt there will be pictures later.

My trip is for ladies only, but hopefully there will be lots of sun and sea, and some history as well!

Happy birthday, Jordan Knight!

Sadly, it is already over two weeks since I was lucky enough to see NKOTBSB in London and even got to repeat that experience. I've been fussing about Nick Carter's absolutely beautiful leather pants even here, but my true love for 25 years only left me speechless: That is the angel-voiced New Kid Jordan Knight.

That brown-eyed hottie is turning 42 today, who would believe that? :) Apparently he'll be celebrating that in Australia, where the two groups were heading from Europe. So, what would be a better time to share some Jordan-memories?

Back in the good old days there was a publication called New Kids Monthly. They printed pictures of those guys, but more than that, they printed writings of fans. Nowadays there are plenty of  web sites for fanfiction, but back then, I don't think there was really even a name for it. I made some life-long friends through letter-writing and even got to remember one fan made poem (don't know by whom) by heart. It is about Jordan, of course, and it has been hunting me for months now. This is how it goes:
Jordan Knight, I love you so
Take me down and f**ck me slow
Turn me, burn me, do it right
I want you each and every night.
I was learning that stuff while mom thought I was doing my home work or just drawing hearts in my diary. So just that you know, you can never trust a teenager to be quite as good as she seems... Well, at least I learned some English, enough for an one night stand at the very least!

Our birthday boy is still kicking some ass. He's now touring the globe with NKOTBSB and giving such mind blowing shows, and his solo career seems successful enough as well. I got my Unfinished-CD from the London concert, and  I think it's going to be my number one this summer. But you can listen it yourself here.
All pictures here are from the concerts at O2 in London.

Nick Carter's leather pants

It has been wonderfully sunny today, and I've made the most of it by working in the garden; cutting down raspberries and pulling up quite some dandelions... Before I get completely on the gardening-mode and can't write about anything but that, I would like to go two weeks back and share with you a sight that still makes my heart skip a beat: BSB Nick Carter in his leather pants. Such a sight for sore eyes, isn't he?

The pictures are from NKOTBSB-concert in London, unfortunately not the clearest possible, as I tend to jump up an down in concerts... Luckily there's plenty more on Youtube, for example this clip of their concert in Hamburg gives a good idea of what I'm fussing about:

NKOTBSB - afterglowing

All you people can't you see, can't you see - NKOTBSB! All of a sudden I was 15 again... I got to see two NKOTBSB-concerts in London last week, and they have been on my mind ever since... Those guys have only got better by age, and the show was energetic and lots of fun! I've spent lots of time on Youtube re-living the shows, and I do have some pics and Jordan Knight's latest CD, too, and a few t-shirts as well - I am going to make the most of this addiction! Hmm, if only Youtube (or net for that matter) had existed 20 years ago, being a fan would have been so much easier. Then again, I wouldn't have done so well in school... There was a magazine called New Kids Monthly, so I only got a monthly dose of my loved ones, if the magazine even found its way to stores in my small hometown. I only got to see one NKOTB-concert back then; my parents were scared of my dedication to these boys, and back then just the thought of traveling aboard for some concert was impossible. I now feel like I've had some compensation and I'll no doubt get me some more of that if these groups keep touring! They were nights to remember!
                                          NKOTB just starting.
                                         BSB
NKOTB looking so stylish in their suits.
                                         BSB in white.
                                         NKOTB and Step by step.
                                         The Grande finale on Saturday.
BSB Sunday; our seats were this much better!
BSB Nick Carter, my new celeb-crush!

London calling

"When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford."
                                                                                                    -Samuel Johnson 1777

Not everything has changed over the centuries! Therefor, this weekend it's my third trip to London, and it's going to be full of entertainment: there will be two NKOTBSB-concerts and Mamma Mia -musical, and I am quite excited of them all!

Rest of the time we'll spend shopping and sightseeing. This is a ladies'  long weekend there, and I have dreamt of a high heeled pair of Kurt Geiger's since my last trip there...

Here's a selection of pictures of my last trip. I did't plan to go there, but since my co-workers wanted to go there and see some soccer, I went along; just went to see the musical Dirty Dancing instead.
A Mini! And I love this house, too!

There's always something blooming... Lots of small gardens.
What a house! You can find modern and ugly buildings as well, but you can find amazing things if you look up...

British Museum is excellent. There's so much to see and it's for free!
I always want to see these kitty mummies.
Angry birds wishing for some wine?
A travelers snack, yummy it was.
Trafalgar square, such a lively place, and great museums.
 This clock doesn't need introductions...
I got this photo taken in a sightseeing bus, so I suppose it was worth it, although it was chilly sitting there.
 Tower bridge...

And the Tower, too.

On a short trip you only get to see a little bit of London, so why not concentrate on these pretty essentials? For me, Covent Garden is worth visiting every time, and this trip I plan to go and see Camden as well. It might become another "must-see-every-time"...

Here's some music-videos with London, not just the tourists' version of it.
                                            About you now by Sugababes

Blue: I can

Pet Shop Boys: London

                                                                 Lily Allen: LDN

And about my upcoming entertainment:
So the hugest boy bands from 1990's are all grown up now and working together. I was a huge fan of New Kids on the Block then, and I am now very excited to see them with Backstreet Boys. One more night to wait!

A little bit more to wait until this one, but surely worth it!

Somekind of warmth...

Weather has been getting warmer, too, but I'm experiencing a real heath wave in a form of a flu and high temperature. To make the most of that warmth I'm wearing my light summer dresses and eating only ice cream...

Here's a song to match:

Recycling

There's no time like present what comes to doing some spring clean up in one's closet.... In my case it takes several days (my actual work disturbing me once in a while), putting aside my warmest cardigans and making space for the lighter clothes. The pieces I don't use anymore go to recycling, either I sell them at flea market or take them to charity - even though my cat seems to object that:

I've done the same kind of harvesting in my bookshelf, and it feels great to finally have some room for new books! :)

Flowery delights

Of course it was raining cats and dogs all weekend, so I avoided gardening and outdoors in general. Luckily I had hot yoga and sauna to keep me warm!

Since today is Monday and just another work-filled day, it is of course nice and sunny. I had time to walk through my garden and admire whatever there looks nice already, crocuses in three colors and snow drops;

The dog instead tried to make the most of whatever snow was left there.

It's spring!

Not all snow has melted away, but the most impatient ones are already riding their motorcycles... And I can't wait to do some gardening, I'll probably start trimming some bushes and apple trees this weekend. Crocuses and snowdrops are already blooming, but there isn't much green yet.

This song fits my springly mood perfectly; it's Drive by by Train.

Sun is still shining!

I have been expecting more snow and sleet - spring and sun feels somehow too good to be true. I have my last Spanish lesson of this spring today, so I suppose that winter really is over!

Today I was back at work after four-day Easter break, just started counting the days 'til summer break (too many to mention yet), lazy me!

Looks like my cat shares the feeling, though:

Easter bunny paid us a visit

For as long as it is still possible to ski outdoors, people really shouldn't do jogging in just shorts and t-shirts. I have slight concerns of the mental health of other residents of this town, but never mind...

This Easter I started believing in Easter bunny - how could I not? There was one hiding behind my rose. Of course I am not entirely happy about it, as I have to worry for my tulips and plum trees, but maybe there was enough snow to protect at least the flowers.

Stupid looking Easter decorations

What a sunny Easter this has been! My smile is certainly getting wider with every new sign of spring! I have been enjoying the yellow and green Easter decorations, but the piece I crocheted myself  looks just funny:

You can make one, too. Here they explain, how.
I'll go out and enjoy sunshine while it lasts...

Getting started!

Welcome to my new blog! This blog is dedicated to all those little things in life that give joy; cherishing all those things that make me smile. They might be little or small, usual or unusual... My interests vary, but I assume that some of my topics are traveling, pets, garden, crafts, movies, music, relationships and nature. Surely I have enough reasons to moarn, too, just like anybody else, but this blog isn't about that. I consider finding laughing matters my true talent, that´s something, isn´t it, so hopefully I can make us all look life in a little bit more cheerful manner - and remind us to cherish all those things that are good and fun!
