To Glasgow! (NKOTB 4eva)

When I was a teenager, New Kids on the Block made me want to study English, and magazines such as New Kids Monthly or Smash Hits gave me some good and frequent literal practice. In those good old days of 1990's you couldn't follow your idols on the Internet; oh, fandom was so different back then, you actually had to wait to get some news if they reached you at all...
Teenagers didn't just fly overseas to concerts. NKOTB only visited Finland two or three times, I think, and I only got to one concert. We were not a rich family,  and my mother was anyway too scared to let me go after seeing how fanatic I got after that one concert. :)
As I'm all grown up now, if not even old, I am certainly less fanatic, but surprisingly enough, still very much loving, and eager. And of course with so many more possibilities to follow the celebrities I want to. I have once followed NKOTB to London, where I got to see two amazing concerts. They are not boys anymore, but have matured beautifully, and are fine men like I always thought they would be. Many of them I can follow on Twitter, and it somehow brings them closer. No waiting for the news anymore! Yet there seems to be no chance for me to see them in a concert in my country, so they make me travel again. This June I shall see them in Glasgow, Scotland, and I can honestly say that is the furthest I have ever travelled for any man! But for NKOTB, who made me study my English, gave me many many good friends, made my life bearable at the hardest times and still give a fabulous party every time they are at stage - I'll do it so gladly.

Plus, there's always a cance to see a man or two in a kilt. Yummy!

Psst... Ticket's to the NKOTB European tour...

They can be bought in just a few hours!

The arenas won't be the hugest ones, because they want the atmosphere to be intimate, so do not wait to the last minute!  You don't see Finland on the list, so I have to do some travelling... Sweden would be the closest, but it seems impossible to get that Tuesday off work :(. I think I'll try Scotland or The Netherlands just because of a better date - and of course a little city get-away is always a good idea!

Now who would want to miss this?

Nkotb coming to Europe!

Ok, so I so did not intend this to be a boyband blog, but there just see s to be exciting news whenever I have time to write...

I already got me a ticket to see The Backstreet Boys in Helsinki in March; I thought that any mature boyband is better than no mature boyband at all, that this concert alone was enough to make my spring a fantastic one... Then yesterday the news reached me: NKOTB is coming to Europe as well! That happens in May, starting in Stockholm on 6th and ending in Glasgow June 1st. Of course they are skipping Finland again... So a little get-away toome European city is in sight! Stockholm would be the nearest, but unfortunately that seems to be the hardest time to get the necessary days off work. Scotland would be the best in that aspect as summerholiday is starting then anyway, but there are no direct (or cheap) flights from here so that needs some considerating...

Anyway, how exciting is this! TWO of my favourite boybands!!! That is, of course, if I manage to get tickets to any of those NKOTB concerts. Tickets will be available in a couple of days and to VIP's apparently sooner...

If I manage to link a video, you can easily see for yourself what fun it will be! (OMG, a kiss like that from Jordan!!! ;))

There's a new cat in the house! (Updated pictures)

Nine days ago she came and took over the house: this little kitty we named Nessi (Miss Blue Milkbeard, in my language and shortened). She's a mixed breed, mom is a ragdoll and dad is a russian blue. The mixture looks good to me, and her charachter is wonderful!

A house without a cat just ain't a home, and we had been without one since November, when our dear Sissi passed away all of a sudden. So now wonder a few months passed by without a lot to cherish...

If this blogging with ipad works as it seems to, I'll probably blog more often from now on - not only pictures of Nessi, I promise....
